National Strategy for Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) 2020-2029 Version 1 final
The National REDD+ Strategy is one of the structuring elements that has been agreed internationally, as a prerequisite for implementing REDD+ and accessing results-based payments. Despite the efforts made at the international level to stabilize the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, the phenomenon of climate change continues to increase drastically. This requires greater mitigation and adaptation efforts from developing countries, including Togo. The sources of GHG emissions linked to land use change and forestry alone represent nearly 2 thirds of GHG emissions in Togo. Addressing the causes of deforestation and forest degradation will therefore contribute to a significant reduction in GHG emissions in Togo.
