Non-wood forest products (NTFP) are used in Togo, both in urban areas and in rural areas. According to Togo's National Forest Action Plan (PAFN 2011-2019), medicinal plants are by far the most commercialized. The NTFP sector in Togo contains a very varied range of products, ranging from tree bark to roots, leaves and fruits. Togo's fifth national report on biological diversity 2009-2014 (MERF, 2014) provides an exhaustive list of NTFPs entering the socio-economic life of local populations.
