The floristic inventory carried out in the southernmost part of the Togo Mountains during the last two years (2016-2018) has identified two new species for the Togolese flora. Microcoelia macrorhynchia (Schltr.) Summerh. and Tridactyle filifolia (Schltr.) Schltr. thus bringing the diversity to four for the genus Tridactyl and two for the genus Microcoelia. These two epiphytic species were discovered on the Danyi highlands and in the Litimé plain, in ecological zone IV, one of the most endangered biodiversity hotspots in Togo.
These two new quotations bring the national diversity of Orchidaceae to 92 species.
