BIODIVERSITY: TOWARDS THE SIGNING OF GRANT AGREEMENTS FOR PAP BIO C1 — MANGROVES
In order to allow a good start of the activities of the PapBio C1-Mangroves sub-projects, the PapBio C1-Mangroves project coordination team is holding a scoping meeting with the sponsors of the pre-selected projects. The meeting, which will start on Monday 03 and end on May 05, 2021, will be held in Aného.
Initiated to last forty-seven (47) months from its date of signature on July 16, 2019, to the tune of 9,900,000 euros or more than 6 billion 490 million CFA francs, the project “Management of mangrove forests from Senegal to Benin “PapBio C1-Mangroves”” project intervenes in West African countries, namely Senegal, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Leone, Benin, Benin, Benin and Togo, the project “Management of mangrove forests from Senegal to Benin” “PapBio C1-Mangroves”” project operates in West African countries, namely Senegal, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Leone, Benin, Benin, Benin and Togo.
The project aims to implement the activities according to two principles: the direct implementation of the activities by the co-applicants behind this project for the most technical and/or national, cross-border and regional activities; and the implementation of activities in relation to their capacities and centered at the local level by NGOs, associations and partners after submitting grant proposals.
In Togo, several meetings took place with local governance associations, NGOs, communal and state institutions and actors involved. This is in order to prepare them to perfect their project, to prepare the ground for a good start of activities on all the sites that will be selected.
Recall that the overall objective of the project is to achieve integrated protection of the diversity and fragile ecosystems of Mangrove in West Africa and their strengthened resilience to climate change. This makes it possible to directly strengthen the actors involved in the management of protected areas and unprotected mangrove sites. The aim is to link governance and production systems with mangrove conservation structures at the territorial level.
